The Reel Review Episode 34 - Inglourious Basterds, Star Wars & The Warriors and Animated Movie Madness (The Finals)

Mike, Mike and Lon conclude their quest to name their Top Animated Movie of all time! The Finals Matchups are: ’Beauty & the Beast’ vs ‘Nightmare Before Chirstmas’, ‘Snoopy Come Home’ vs ‘Who Framed Roger Rabbit’. ‘The Incredibles’ vs ‘Wallace & Gromit: The Cruse of the Ware Rabbit’ and ‘’Bambi’ vs ‘Alice in Wonderland’. Which movie won it all? Did they make a mistake? Someone did call for a recall….uh oh!

They reviewed the new release ’Inglourious Basterds’ and the 1970’s classic ’The Warriors’. They all agree that ‘The Warriors’ was a great movie, way ahead of its time. BUT then the fun really starts…one of them LOVED Inglourious, one thought it was just ok and one of them walked out 1 hour into the movie. Was it Brad Pitts fault? Is one of them really a moron? We know one thing…there were a lot of insults thrown around.

The guys took another listener request as they reviewed ‘Star Wars: Episode IV: A New Hope’. All three of them were happy to review one of their favorites. Did it live up to expectations? Has the luster worn off? Would it be as popular if it was a new release today or has time made it such a classic?

In another battle of Celebrity Warrior, Ethan Hunt (Mission Impossible) faces off with Bryan Mills (Taken). Can the retired spy take down a younger opponent? Will gadgets play a part in the battle or will it come down to hand to hand combat? Who won this battle…one of them was upset at the outcome.

They took us back in time as they give you a Retro Box Office Ranking, this time they go back the week of August 26th 1988. Which movie was on top? How much money did a cartoon rabbit pull in? Where did Bruce Willis land? Were movie goers still mindless sheep 21 years ago?

And as always some news & rumors, the current Box Office rankings and new DVD and Theater Releases.

The ESCape - Episode 83 Preview

Join Al, Mike and Willie this Wednesday night as they discuss every kids nightmare….going back to school! The guys will talk about their past experiences of the first day of school. They will also talk to some parents about their experiences on getting their kids back to gettin’ their learn on!

The will also reveal some back to school horror stories…some examples are a teacher throwing poop at a student? Students crossing a raging river with a zip line….to get back to class? Seriously??

This weeks Retro Review will feature the final odd game of the month as they review the NES game Cool Spot. Yes, the 1990’s mascot for 7-Up had his own video game. Join the fun as our brave little spot battles enemies by shooting soda bubbles at them in all directions. Was this game an alternative to Super Mario Brothers or Sonic the Hedgehog? Doubtful…but the name of the game is Cool Spot…so it has to be good…right?

The “Dear ESCape” segment returns this week as the guys try to answer the listeners emails and even take some calls. Remember caller D-Nizzie’s problem with her sister-in-law? The guys handled that pretty well, so move over Dr. Phil…Al, Mike and Willie got it from here.

Have something you have always wanted to ask a black person? Well the popular “Ask the Black Dude” returns this week. Willie will answer our listeners questions they have always wanted to ask a black person, just never had the balls to ask. What will they come up with?
